About

About Dobromir Risov (Mag., BSC)
I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. I have lived most of my life in Austria. There I attended the Vienna University of Economics & Business. I studied Business Administration majoring in Corporate Finance. I wrote my thesis on Portfolio Management. That was my first encounter with active and passive investing. I bought my first stock following a value investment approach around this time.
I worked 10 years in different fields of finance, mostly external audit. Investing remained a part of my life in my free time. I have lived in several countries in Europe – UK, Ireland, Spain and Portugal. My BSc degree is in accounting from Brookes University (UK).
About Camel - Personal Finance
I launched Camel – Personal Finance to become a one-stop site for personal finance matters. I start with a course on personal investing. With time I will add content on monthly expenses, debt, taxes or planning. I address topics through blogs and courses. The content I offer is based on books, research papers & articles I have selected. The course material takes into account the limited time resources of participants. Also, the content is useful for individual investors with little funds to spare. Sound investing advice does not change with the amount of money.
The philosophy is for participants to move at their own pace. They benefit most when they take the initiative. When I select information for this site I focus on providing structure and clarity to tidy up the information overkill. The sole source of income of this website are course fees. The mission of this project is participants to tackle their personal finance challenges on their own. The content offered allows to better prepare your actions when picking an investment fund or contacting a bank. The strategy is one step at a time. Like a camel in the desert, to reach the destination across the desert. Expect nothing fancy about the content but some surprises. Your results can actually turn out to be fancy. I would describe the motto on this website: Moving forward slowly.
